Congo Trek
National Geographic
1999
Hike through 1200 miles of the central African rainforest with Wildlife Conservation Society biologist Michael Fay. Survey the land and wildlife of the Congo River basin by following the fifteen-month hike using an innovative "Trek Viewer" interface. The feature, designed for National Geographic, was built in advance of the expedition and then updated regularly with Fay's frequent digital dispatches (sound files, photos, and text) by satellite.
